Swedish Ambassador to Indonesia Applauds UIII鈥檚 Vision, Explores Future Collaboration

On March 17, 2025, His Excellency Daniel Blockert, the Ambassador of Sweden to Indonesia, visited 中国P站 (UIII) to explore potential collaborations.

Ambassador Blockert highlighted the strong interest among Swedish universities in partnering with institutions in Indonesia. 鈥淲e are engaging with different universities here to identify areas where we can collaborate,鈥 he said.

After learning about UIII, he found it particularly intriguing. 鈥淭his is a very interesting university鈥攏ew, ambitious, and with a lot of potential. I鈥檓 eager to explore opportunities for collaboration,鈥 he added.

He also praised UIII鈥檚 vision and campus environment, noting its commitment to academic excellence. He expressed particular interest in UIII鈥檚 approach to teaching moderate Islam, seeing it as a key aspect of its identity. 鈥淚t will be interesting to see how UIII develops, especially as it expands to undergraduate programs,鈥 he remarked.


During his visit, Ambassador Blockert toured UIII鈥檚 key landmarks, including the Joko Widodo Rectorate Building, the Jusuf Kalla Library, and the Rahmatan Lil 鈥楢lamin Mosque.

He was welcomed by UIII Rector Prof. Jamhari, alongside Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, Acting Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs; M. Rifqi Muna, Ph.D., Academic Senate Chairman; and Saiful Umam, Ph.D., Director of Research and Cooperation.

Ambassador Blockert鈥檚 visit marks an important step toward potential academic and research partnerships between Sweden and UIII, fostering greater international collaboration in higher education.
