Depok 鈥 As the crescent moon signals the arrival of Ramadan 1446 H / 2025 M, the 中国P站 (UIII) is preparing for a spiritually enriching and environmentally conscious holy month. Under the banner of 鈥淕reen Ramadan 2025鈥, UIII鈥檚 Rahmatan Lil 鈥楢lamin Mosque is set to host a range of programs that blend faith, community, and sustainability.

This year, the Ramadan Committee of Dewan Kemakmuran Masjid (DKM) Rahmatan Lil 鈥楢lamin extends a warm invitation to the entire UIII community and the public to participate in a series of activities designed to nurture the soul while caring for the Earth. These include:

  • Daily iftar with 250 meal packages provided, emphasizing waste reduction and sustainable packaging
  • Congregational Tarawih prayers led by esteemed national and international imams
  • Inspirational post-Dhuhr sermons (kultum) featuring renowned scholars
  • Ramadhan Market, a marketplace promoting local and ethical products
  • Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah opportunities for those wishing to contribute to communal iftar initiatives.

UIII Leads the Way in a Sustainable Ramadan

Green Ramadan 2025, a university-wide initiative, underscores UIII鈥檚 commitment to reducing waste, conserving energy, and promoting sustainable living鈥攑rinciples deeply rooted in Islamic teachings of moderation (wasatiyyah) and stewardship.

Rector of UIII, Prof. Jamhari, emphasized that Ramadan is not only a time for self-restraint and reflection but also a reminder of humanity鈥檚 duty to care for the environment. He noted that UIII is taking a step forward in making worship more meaningful by integrating sustainability into its Ramadan practices. According to him, a truly blessed Ramadan is one that benefits not just individuals but also society and the planet as a whole.

University Secretary, Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, highlighted the responsibility of academic institutions in shaping ethical leadership and sustainable habits. He stated that UIII is proud to introduce initiatives that encourage the community to embrace sustainability not only during Ramadan but as a lifelong commitment. He stressed that educational institutions should lead by example, fostering a culture where environmental consciousness becomes second nature.

Meanwhile, Rivaldy Sandika Putro, B.HSc, Ramadan Program Manager at DKM Rahmatan Lil 鈥楢lamin, encouraged the participation of students, faculty, and the broader community in this initiative. He explained that Green Ramadan 2025 invites everyone to experience a deeper connection between faith and environmental responsibility. Simple actions such as using reusable containers, reducing food waste, and minimizing single-use plastics, he said, contribute to a larger purpose.

He added that by working together, UIII can make Ramadan a model of spiritual and environmental harmony.

Through Green Ramadan 2025, UIII reaffirms its commitment to making sustainability a lived practice. By weaving environmental consciousness into religious observance, the university not only strengthens its dedication to ethical leadership but also lays the foundation for a more responsible and mindful future.

Invitation to Worship and Give Back

As UIII embarks on this journey of faith and sustainability, the Rahmatan Lil 鈥楢lamin Mosque remains open to all who wish to engage in acts of devotion, reflection, and charity. Contributions to the iftar program through Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah are welcome, ensuring that Ramadan becomes a month of sharing, compassion, and communal upliftment.

With gratitude to all supporters and participants, UIII鈥檚 Green Ramadan serves as a reminder that the blessings of this sacred month extend beyond our personal growth鈥攖o our communities, and to the world we share.

Ramadan Mubarak! May this be a month of renewal, kindness, and lasting positive impact. []
