Yogyakarta鈥檚 UII Won 1st FisFastFest鈥檚 Clash of Campuses

Depok, March 13, 2025 鈥� The UIII鈥檚 Faculty of Islamic Studies flagship event FisFastFest 2025 culminated in a thrilling result as the representatives of Yogyakarta鈥檚 Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) emerged victorious in an intense Quiz contest, outperforming 11 other universities from across Java.
The competition, Clash of Campuses, gathered 12 groups of undergraduate students from Islamic universities in Java, and tested the participants through multiple challenging rounds. In the first round, each team tackled five direct-answer questions, followed by a high-speed buzzer round to select the semifinals. From there, the semifinalists were tested with a study case challenge where they needed to analyze a case and present their argument in a limited time.
Three finalists made it to the grand finale with UII Yogyakarta eventually gaining a victory, beating LIPIA Jakarta and UIN Jakarta as the runners-up.
One of UII鈥檚 team members, Faisal Ahmad Ferdian Syah, described the competition as an adrenaline-pumping experience that demanded broad insights and quick decision-making. 鈥淲ith judges who are doctors and professors, the challenge was immense. We hope this competition continues every year,鈥� he said.
Beyond the contest, FisFastFest 2025 also served as a platform for intellectual exchange. Muhammad Rafa Ananda from Universitas Al-Azhar Indonesia emphasized that the event showcased how Islamic universities engage with contemporary global issues, proving their relevance in today鈥檚 academic landscape.
By hosting FisFastFest 2025, UIII reinforced its role as a hub for academic excellence, intellectual growth, and meaningful collaboration. The event not only celebrated knowledge but also inspired young scholars to push boundaries, engage in critical discourse, and elevate the standing of Islamic higher education.
With the enthusiasm generated by this year鈥檚 competition, UIII is set to further strengthen inter-university collaborations and foster a dynamic academic culture in the years ahead.
