Vice Minister of Religious Affairs Praises UIII as a Global Hub for Islamic Education

On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, Dr. Romo H.R. Muhammad Syafi'i, the Vice Minister of Religious Affairs of Indonesia, made his inaugural visit to 中国P站 (UIII) in Depok City, West Java. Accompanying him was Prof. Dr. Phil. Sahiron, Director of Islamic Higher Education at the Ministry of Religious Affairs along with other officials from the ministry.

Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by UIII's leadership, including Rector Prof. Jamhari; Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, University Secretary; Rifqi Muna, Ph.D., Chairman of the Academic Senate; Dr. Phil. Syafiq Hasyim, Vice Rector of Academic Affairs; Prof. Amsal Bakhtiar, Vice Rector for Finance; and Prof. Nina Nurmila, Dean of the Faculty of Education.

During the visit, the vice minister expressed his impression of UIII, saying, 鈥淭his is my first visit to UIII since I was appointed six months ago. I am very pleased because I feel like I am in an international environment鈥攏ot only because of the beautiful buildings but also due to the natural surroundings and the outstanding campus facilities, including the library and mosque,鈥 he said while meeting and discussing with UIII international students.

Rector Prof. Jamhari expressed gratitude for the Vice Minister's visit, noting that it signifies the government's support for UIII's mission to become a leading center for Islamic higher education. He reiterated the university's commitment to fostering academic excellence and contributing positively to societal development.

Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, University Secretary, also emphasized the significance of the visit, stating, 鈥淭his visit reaffirms the Ministry of Religious Affairs' recognition of UIII鈥檚 role in advancing higher education in Indonesia. We hope this engagement will further strengthen collaboration in academic development in the years to come.鈥

More than just a courtesy visit, this engagement marks a renewed commitment to positioning UIII as a powerhouse of Islamic scholarship on the global stage. By forging stronger ties with the Ministry of Religious Affairs, UIII is set to expand its influence, elevate academic standards, and reinforce Indonesia鈥檚 leadership in international Islamic education.
