UIII Student Receives MOsMA Scholarship, Spends One Semester at University of Dundee, UK

Neng Zulfa Azhar, our student from the Faculty of Economics and Business has been awarded the prestigious MOsMA scholarship by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. This scholarship has enabled her to pursue one semester of studies at the School of Business, University of Dundee, UK.

MOSMA stands for MORA Overseas Student Mobility Awards initiated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and is part of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation through a physical mobility program which provides opportunities for students to study at foreign universities.

The Merdeka Curriculum is a framework of educational plans or materials designed to foster students' learning interests and potential. The program focuses on cultivating skills essential for addressing modern challenges.

Zulfa shared her experience while having one semester of study from January to May 2024 in the UK. She expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting that it has helped enrich her thesis supervision under the guidance of professors from both Dundee and Indonesia.

鈥淚 engaged in advanced research methodology studies at the University of Dundee and delved into academic life there. I am warmly welcomed by the entire staff and faculty who have provided unwavering support throughout my academic journey,鈥 Zulfa said.

Zulfa testified that she enjoyed full access to all campus facilities and resources while being at the University of Dundee, allowing her to participate in classes smoothly. She also highlighted the presence of Al-MaktoumCollege within the university, which specializes in Islamic finance, offering her valuable insights during her academic pursuits.

鈥淟iving in a community surrounded by many Muslims and close to Al Maktoum Mosque has made me feel at home during Ramadhan, experiencing warmth and inclusivity. My time at the University of Dundee has broadened my perspective, reinforcing the belief that dreams can be realized through perseverance and prayer,鈥 she noted.

This is not the first time a UIII student has become a MOsMA Scholar. Early, Naura Safira Salsabila Zain, our master's student in Islamic studies, spent a semester at the University of Edinburgh, UK, under the MOsMA Scholarship. These initiatives exemplify the commitment of UIII and its partners to global educational prospects.
