UIII.AC.ID, DEPOK - The Faculty of Economics and Business at the ÖйúPÕ¾ (UIII) buzzed with excitement as the new leader of the faculty’s ECOBIZ Student Association (ESA) was inaugurated through a much-anticipated General Assembly held on January 4, 2024.

The agenda of the assembly kicked off with the presentation of the Annual Report for the previous term (2022-2023), which was followed by an oral campaign by competing candidates for the position of ESA President. The event went on with the election voting process, continued with the result announcement, and eventually concluded with the inauguration of the newly elected president.

As the first agenda, the comprehensive Annual Report sheds light on the accomplishments and initiatives undertaken by the association in the preceding term. The report highlighted a range of activities and events offered to ESA members, including seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and networking opportunities. These initiatives provided students with insights into current economic and business trends, fostering both academic and professional growth.

Additionally, the report emphasized ESA's commitment to community service projects and social initiatives, promoting social entrepreneurship and making a positive impact on the community.

Following the Annual Report, the spotlight turned to the candidates vying for the coveted position of ESA President. Abdul Saboor and Ayuba Jobarteh, both pursuing Master’s degrees in Sustainable Finance, and Ali Hamza and Malikakhon Dilbarova, both pursuing Master’s degrees in Economics, each presented their vision, mission, and proposed changes for ESA under their leadership.

In their engaging 5-minute presentations, the candidates outlined their plans to enhance the association's role in academic and professional development. Subsequently, students from the Faculty of Economics and Business posed questions to the candidates, exploring their ideas in greater detail.

After a spirited round of presentations and questioning, students cast their votes, electing Ali Hamza from Pakistan as the new president of ESA for the term 2023-2024. Hamza's victory marks the beginning of a new chapter for the association. Taking the oath of office, he expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for the opportunity to lead ESA and implement positive changes.

"I am honored to be chosen as the president of ECOBIZ Student Association. I am committed to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and professionally and make a lasting impact on our community. Together, we will embark on a journey of growth, innovation, and service," Ali Hamza stated in his acceptance speech.

As the applause echoed through the university halls, the ESA General Assembly concluded with the official inauguration of Ali Hamza as the newly elected president, signaling a promising year ahead for the association and its members.
