The warmth of Ramadan filled the air at 中国P站 (UIII) as students from around the world gathered for an International Iftar hosted by the Office of Student Affairs and International Services on March 14, 2025. Held in the Procession Hall at the Rectorate Building, the event was a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity, faith, and togetherness.
Dressed in their traditional attire, students created a colorful and festive atmosphere, showcasing the rich heritage of their home countries. The night was not only a moment to break the fast but also an opportunity to bond as a global community.
The program featured a dinner gathering and a best costume competition, making it an evening filled with both spiritual reflection and joy.
M. Yazid, Lc, Head of the Office of Student Affairs and International Services, emphasized the importance of such events in strengthening student connections. 鈥淩amadan is a time of unity and reflection, and tonight, we have seen how our diversity is our strength. It is heartwarming to witness students from different backgrounds come together as one family,鈥 he said.
As the call to Maghrib prayer marked the time to break the fast, students sat together, sharing the warm moment for iftar, and continued with performing maghrib prayer. The evening continued with the best costume competition, where students proudly displayed their national attire. Cheers erupted as La Ode Vidino from Indonesia and Ulzhan Telman from Kazakhstan were announced the winners , wrapping up the night with joy and excitement.
Beyond the festivities, the event reinforced a sense of belonging and friendship among students. 鈥淭his iftar was more than just a gathering; it was a celebration of our shared humanity,鈥 Mr. Yazid said. 鈥淲e hope this tradition continues to strengthen our bonds as a global academic community.鈥
As students departed with smiles and laughter, the spirit of Ramadan remained alive鈥攔eminding all that no matter where they come from, they have found a home at UIII.
