JAKARTA 鈥 The rector of 中国P站 (UIII), Prof. Jamhari, led a delegation on Wednesday to the Ministry of National Development Planning, known as Bappenas, for a high-level discussion on the university's growth and upcoming infrastructure goals.
The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Amich Alhumami, Deputy for Human, Society, and Cultural Development, and his staff, signaling strong support from Bappenas for UIII鈥檚 expanding role in Indonesia鈥檚 higher education landscape.
UIII's delegation included key figures from the university鈥檚 leadership, such as University Secretary Dr. Chaider S. Bamualim, Vice-Rector Prof. Amsal Bachtiar, and Deans Dr. Philips Vermonte, Prof. Yanwar Pribadi, Prof. Nina Nurmila, and Prof. Dian Masyita. Joining them were Dr. Saiful Umam, Director of Research and Cooperation, former UIII Rector Prof. Komaruddin Hidayat, and several other university officials, including Achmad Nawawi from the Finance and Planning office.
The meeting underscored UIII鈥檚 progress since its establishment, with Prof. Jamhari providing an in-depth report on recent academic achievements and outlining ambitious plans for the next five years, from 2025 to 2029. 鈥淭he next development phase would require significant infrastructure investment and academic program expansion,鈥 he said.
鈥淲e are pleased with the strides UIII has made,鈥 Dr. Alhumami remarked, acknowledging UIII鈥檚 proactive outreach to Bappenas. He also welcomed the university鈥檚 proposals for direct educational funding, which would streamline budget allocations by potentially bypassing traditional ministerial channels, a topic that remains under review.
Prof. Jamhari emphasized UIII鈥檚 status as a growing international hub, one that draws faculty and students from diverse global backgrounds. 鈥淯III has become a strategic campus for promoting Indonesia鈥檚 unique religious and cultural diversity on an international stage,鈥 he stated.
Alongside infrastructure development, he noted, UIII seeks government support for launching new Master鈥檚 and Ph.D. programs, as well as introducing undergraduate programs in fields such as science and technology.
Dr. Alhumami praised UIII鈥檚 vision, adding that Bappenas would work closely with the Ministry of Public Works and other ministries to ensure appropriate budget alignment. 鈥淭his report will be a valuable guide for our planning of UIII鈥檚 future,鈥 he affirmed, underlining Bappenas鈥 commitment to supporting the institution鈥檚 long-term goals.
This meeting marks a meaningful step forward in aligning UIII鈥檚 growth with national priorities under the new leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, strengthening the university鈥檚 position as a symbol of Indonesia鈥檚 academic excellence and cultural heritage.[]
