August Series Workshops Spark Massive Interest

The UIII Faculty of Economics and Business successfully hosted the 2024 Professional Skill Development Program (PSDP), offering a range of specialized training sessions aimed at enhancing participants' professional skills. These sessions provided valuable insights and hands-on experience, attracting a wide array of participants eager to improve their research and data management capabilities.

The August series featured two key workshops: "Writing Tools and Hacks for Research" and "Stata Data Management & Analysis," which took place on August 20-21, 2024, at the Language Laboratory, Faculty B, UIII Campus. The sessions drew participants from diverse backgrounds, including academics, professionals, and students, all eager to enhance their skills.

The "Writing Tools and Hacks" session featured Dr. Raden Aswin Rahadi, S.T., MBA, an Assistant Professor at the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung. Dr. Rahadi emphasized the inevitability of technology in the modern world, particularly in academic writing, and the importance of using it ethically. 

During the session, he introduced various tools designed to enhance participants' writing skills, providing practical, hands-on experience that left a significant impact on attendees, and equipping them with essential techniques for producing high-quality research articles.

Another session, titled 鈥淒ata Management and Analysis,鈥 was led by Yasmin Lurusati, M.SE, a Ph.D. candidate from the University of Twente, Netherlands. Yasmin highlighted the critical role of effective data management in research, stressing how proper data handling can greatly assist professionals in making informed decisions during the writing process.

Her insights, particularly the practical implications of data management in producing high-quality research, resonated with participants. "Scientific tools in quantitative studies are important, and I think we need more programs like this in the near future so that students can choose the quantitative tools best suited for their research," she remarked.

One participant, Nadia, a Ph.D. student from the Faculty of Education at UIII, found the training particularly valuable. "In this workshop, I learned how to use AI in an ethical way to help me write research articles, and this has been really helpful for me," she said, highlighting the program's practical impact on her academic work. The program's ability to cater to a wide audience underscores its success in meeting the evolving needs of today's learners.
